Driver's license
In Korea, there are two types of driver's licenses: Class 1 and Class 2.
A Class 2 license is required to drive a vehicle with 9 seats or less and a 125cc motorcycle, while a Class 1 license is required to drive a vehicle with 15 seats or less. Other types of vehicles require a special license. The driving test consists of a written test, a skills test, and a driving test, which are conducted in order. What to bring when taking the test: passport and alien registration card, two color photos of the size of a wallet, and a cash fee.
International Driving Permit
This type of license is valid for one year from the date of issue. To renew the license, you will need your driver's license, passport, and a color photograph.

Exchange your foreign driver's license for a Korean driver's license
You can exchange your foreign driver's license for a Korean driver's license. However, if you are from a country whose driver's license is not recognized in Korea, you must pass a driving test to obtain a driver's license.
Foreign driver's license, passport, and three wallet-sized colored photos. When submitting a foreign driver's license, you will also need an immigration certificate issued by the immigration office, an embassy confirmation (if you are from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Germany, Japan or Spain, you do not need an embassy confirmation), and an authorized translation of your driver's license (except if you are from an English-speaking country).

Newly purchased vehicles must be registered with the city or county office and receive new license plates.
Temporary license plates are available for the first 10 days after purchasing the vehicle. When disposing of the vehicle, you must pay any unpaid vehicle taxes and repay any loans. After disposing of the vehicle, you must remove the vehicle from your name in the city or county office within one month.
The same laws that apply to Korean nationals apply to foreign residents. The amount of tax varies depending on engine size, number of passenger seats, and other features. The notice you receive from your local government office can be paid at a local financial institution, and you can get a 10% discount if you pay the entire year's tax at once. If you do not pay your tax, a late fee will be added to your bill. If you are further behind in payment, your license plates will be removed and ultimately your vehicle will be impounded. You can get a discount on your car insurance by providing a driving record from your home country. There are two types of car insurance: basic mandatory coverage and optional additional coverage.
