Showing the present and future of the world’s display industry, “IMID·DVCE 2015: Display Valley Conference & Exhibition” was held from October 14 to 16 at Kintex, Ilsan.
The event was held jointly by Chungcheongnam-do and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and jointly hosted by the Korea Display Industry Association and Chungnam Techno Park. Some 60,000 people visited the expo, proving once again that it is one of the best expos held in Korea.
IMID·DVCE 2015 is an integration of Chungcheongnam-do’s DVCE and MOTIE’s IMID, which were held for the past 10 years: it was an opportunity to introduce the status of the display industry in Chungcheongnam-do nationwide.
In particular, some 150 businesses participated in this year’s event, which is the first integrated event operating some 400 booths. Auxiliary events such as conference, job fair, and export plaza were also offered, making the expo the largest one in the history of expos held in Korea.
Products on display included the following: display equipment (coating equipment, cleansing equipment, etching equipment), display components (substrate, sensitizer, and spacer), and touch-screen panels (highly functional touch module).
Some 250 people participated in the business and academic conference, which was the highlight of the event. They had a heated discussion on the trend and new technology of the future display industry and on the trend of industrial strategies of neighboring countries.
In addition, a forum on the standardization of fusion display and on environmental issues was held, attracting a lot of attention from display experts in the industry and academe.
During the “DVCE 2015 Job Fair,” which was an auxiliary event, a total of 150 job seekers participated, and 67 people were employed in various fields such as control & board R&D, SW mechanical design, quality & production management, and equipment inspection.
During the export plaza with invited overseas buyers, 60 buyers from 20 enterprises from 5 countries participated in consultations; 3 contracts worth 15.5 million dollars were also signed, providing a foundation for the future growth of small and medium businesses with competitive technology.
“We have been leading both domestic and world markets; in the coming years, we will continuously provide all kinds of assistance possible to create a new growth engine for the display industry,” Chungcheongnam-do said.
