The Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Government has started the specialization of programs designed to provide support for multicultural families.
It will push through with the effort with focus on four areas (development of capabilities of immigrants married to locals and their participation in local community activities, their children's adaptation to the local community and schools, their better relationship with their spouses and other family members, and improvement of the way people view multiple cultures and expansion of cultural diversity) with the aim of helping multicultural families settle down stably, becoming part of the local community without difficulty.
First of all, the Provincial Government will push through with the Hope Linkage Service for Multicultural Families (initiated by Asan-si) and Three-Leaf Clover Local Community Campaign for Multicultural Families (initiated by Dangjin-si) to help immigrants married to locals adapt to life in Korea better.
Designed to train children from multicultural families as globally talented people and help them adapt to local society, the programs include the Global Children Program (initiated by Asan-si), Program for Providing Support for Children Accompanying Their Mothers Re-marrying Locals initiated by Nonsan-si), Happy Papa School Program (initiated by Geumsan-gun) designed for the enhancement of family relationships, program for improving multicultural family relationships (initiated by Hongseong-gun), and the like.
The Provincial Government also adopted the Multicultural Mingling Marketplace Program (initiated by Seosan-si) as a step toward improving the way people view the social integration of multiple cultures.
In addition, it will push through with the publication of The Nations, a multicultural newspaper wherein immigrants married to locals take part, and the program for inviting the parents of immigrants married to locals right after their arrival in Korea and providing support for their visit to their home countries.
In other words, the Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Government goes all out in its efforts to make the Province a good place for all to live in by helping multicultural families stand on their own and providing the basis for social integration with efficient policies.
